History of the Superhero films �Superhero films focus on the actions of 1+ superhero’s who are people that usually have superhuman abilities relative to your average person normally dedicated to the idea of protecting. �These type of films normally include action, adventure, fantasy and science fiction elements. �Many superhero films are based on the comic version however some were based off radio and tv series. �In the beginnings of the 2000’s the superhero film era has become a dominant form worldwide an example of a notable and successful one is Sam Raimi’s Spider man triology

Sub-Genres of the Superhero film �Martial arts – fights are done to appeal and entertain the audience. �Biker – seen to have classic ‘bad guys’ & ‘rebels’ �Comedy Adventure – blends action, suspense and the heroic journey adventure movies take you on with lighthearted comedic elements and ideas �Action Adventure – characters participate in a usually dangerous activities and new experience's �Space Adventure – the idea of the unknown trying to make the audience feel as though they are experiencing what life could be like on another planet

Iconography of the Superhero film �In the photo you can see that each individuals' actor/characters costume that represent their power which you can clearly see as they look partly inhuman beside their heads, as well as this their costumes are very recognizable to many people. �Also the buildings on fire in the background convey the idea that there is some type of danger that you need 7 superhero’s to resolve the problem, the space ships and weapons that some characters are holding also give the impression that they’re different and have the superhuman abilities many people could call it a fantasy world giving the impression that it’s related with action adventure and superhero’s.
