STEPS TO RETURN National Governing Body Guidelines published. BC/YT Section Return to Skating Plan submitted to Via. Sport presents plan to BC Health Ministry gives approval of plan. BC/YT Section releases guidelines to clubs. BC/YT Section awaiting legal approval of SC waivers. Clubs submit plans to local municipalities. Municipalities work together with clubs to define return protocols. Return approval from local municipality.
BEFORE YOU SKATE Covid-19 symptoms, member of household, travel outside of Canada. Vulnerable or at risk individuals. Daily Screening Availability on sessions Registration and payment online only. Signed Waivers
PREPARE TO SKATE Strict arrival time. Off Ice Warm-Ups. Putting on Skates. Physical distancing markers Permitted equipment Skaters assigned numbers for placings inside ice rink. Entering building: check-in, waiver, temperature scan, wash hands. Doors open – avoid touching of surfaces – hand sanitize. Coaches will wear masks / Skaters encouraged but optional.
Daily Health Screening Must be completed by each individual daily Verbal application All questions must be “No” in order to participate
WHILE SKATING Avoid all physical contact ( 2 meter distance from others ). Hand sanitize when necessary. Designated spots to stand during coaching instructions. Washroom restrictions & protocol. Constant movement unless receiving coaching. Facial Tissues. Individual assigned stations at boards.
AFTER SKATING Strict exit protocol. Open doors. Sanitize hands. No lingering in building. Clean gloves / training attire upon returning home.
CLUB RESPONSIBILITIES Stay abreast of COVID-19 situation Communicate & Educate membership Follow SC & Municipal guidelines Appropriate Scheduling / Limited programming Coaches, skaters & volunteers must do daily screening Records Signage in facility Clean Safe environment First Aid Emergency Action Plan
MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES Abide by all protocol and regulations. Sign & submit waiver. Daily health screening prior to arrival. Physical distancing Hygiene & personal clothing equipment management. Follow strict scheduling measures. Arrive with necessary personal requirements. Respect all decisions made by club or coaching staff. Report & quarantine if required.
FACILITY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and sanitization of facility. Safety plan for the facility. Emergency Protocols. Ice Condition.
GROUPINGS Maximum 8 skaters and 2 coaches + 1 Music Player. Deemed optimal for safe distancing by SC. Families with more than 1 skater. Similar now to daytime ice where there is variance in standards. Private lessons or small groups only for coaching. Practice sessions / Coaching sessions Dryland Jumping & Spinning Lessons Outside New set up – New Behaviors
