Schedule Pick Up & Welcome Orientation • All student Orientations will be done virtually

Schedule Pick Up & Welcome Orientation • All student Orientations will be done virtually this year. • All returning SPHS students will receive their schedule through the Family Access Portal. • All REMOTE LEARNING Freshman and new transfer SPHS students will be scheduled to pick up their SPHS issued laptop on 8/26/20. • All IN PERSON Freshman and new transfer SPHS students will receive their SPHS issued laptops during the first two weeks of school.

Social and Emotional Wellness • Plans to provide social and emotional support to students will be implemented with the help of our SPHS staff, school counselors, social worker, and psychologist. • School counselors are planning to ensure that we are providing the necessary support needed for our students. •

Remote Learning Expectations • Attendance • Students must logon to Blackboard and the class

Remote Learning Expectations • Attendance • Students must logon to Blackboard and the class video • Students must have their camera on and be in view of the camera for the entire class period unless otherwise directed by the teacher • Teachers will record attendance in Gradebook • If a student is ill and cannot attend remote instruction, teachers will follow attendance policy and make up work will be given as provided in the Student Progression Plan.

Remote Learning Expectations • Learning Environment • It is expected that students will attend a regular school day and parents/ guardians should provide an area for their child to participate without distraction for the entire school day. • Students should dress appropriately for school, even in remote learning from home. • Parents/guardians must ensure their child is properly supervised during remote instruction and insure there are no other adults or children are present while remote instruction is taking place. • If a remote student is disruptive, the teacher may mute or stop the video and disciplinary procedures will be followed. • Parents/guardians may not interrupt or participate in remote instruction.

Remote Learning Expectations • Learning Materials • Students should use the Blackboard tile under My. SCS as their link to all Remote Learning activities, announcements, and assignments • Students may use computers other than their SPHS assigned device • Neither students nor parents may record, either audio or video, anything that occurs during remote learning. • Teachers do not grant the authority for anyone to record them or other students while engaging in remote teaching or learning. • SPHS will arrange for parents/guardians to pick up any materials (i. e. , textbooks, workbooks, etc. ) that teachers deem necessary for instruction. • Most books are available online. SPHS may make books for AP courses available for pickup.

Remote Learning Expectations • Remote Learning timeframes • To provide continuity of instruction, we recommend that children remain in the remote environment for a semester. • Students who are not successful in the remote environment will be asked to transition back to in-person instruction on the school campus.

Remote Learning Schedule Changes • Schedule Change Requests • In an effort to streamline the schedule change process, SPHS has developed this form. Students/parents will be notified via the email entered on the form when/if schedule changes are made or if additional information is needed. • Priority for attention will be based on the following: • • 1. 2. 3. 4. Students with a schedule or missing periods Students requesting a CTE change Students missing a core class or scheduled in the wrong core class Elective changes • Once the schedule change is submitted, please continue to follow your CURRENT schedule until you are told otherwise by your School Counselor. Remote Learning Academic/In Person CTE • Students choosing the remote learning option will have

Remote Learning Academic/In Person CTE • Students choosing the remote learning option will have remote access to CTE courses that serve SPHS only (AGS, Engineering/Robotics, Business and Future Educators). • Students choosing the remote learning option will NOT have Remote Learning access to Suncoast Technical College CTE courses such as EMT/Firefighter, Nursing, DVT, Power Equipment Technology, etc. Students may be asked to choose a different CTE. • Students MAY choose an option which would allow them to take core classes remotely and attend their STC or SPHS CTE in person. SPHS/SCS will not provide transportation to accommodate this option.

Remote Learning Academic/In Person CTE • Students who drive may park in SPHS or STC parking lot, but must have proper parking permit. • Parents may use the loop in front of SPHS for dropoff or pickup. • Students on campus must comply with SPHS dresscode and safety procedures including face covering requirements. • Students who have an AM CTE may ride the bus to school based on SCS policy. Students should leave campus immediately after class. • Students who have a PM CTE may ride the bus home after school based on SCS policy. Students should arrive at SPHS, check in at the SPHS front desk, and then report to their assigned CTE location.
