Why Have a Site Supervisor? • Ensure sites run smoothly • Ensure sponsor receives proper reimbursement • Alert sponsors of any problems at the site • Ensure children receive nutritious meals and snacks 3
What You Can Expect From Your Sponsor 4
The Sponsor will… ü Handle bills and most ü Advise if your site is limited to serving a paperwork maximum number of ü Conduct pre-approval meals by meal type visits ü Provide forms to record ü Advise which meal the meals you serve types will be served daily ü Give leftover meal ü Assign a monitor to visit instructions your site 5

Your Responsibilities as a Site Supervisor ü Attend the training ü Count and check the sessions prior to number of meals operation delivered ü Order or prepare only ü Keep a copy of the number of meals delivery receipt and that you need meal count with your daily report ü Check to see how meals will be delivered ü Make sure the meals meet meal pattern requirements 9
Your Responsibilities as a Site Supervisor ü Serve one complete ü Do not allow parents to meal to each child eat any portion of the meal ü Serve only one meal to each child during a ü Never serve spoiled meal service food or incomplete meals to children ü Ensure meals are not being taken off site ü Deliver meals within one hour of serving ü Serve meals only to time eligible participants 10

Official Visitors • Announced or unannounced • Visitors must carry identification • Monitors from sponsor’s office, representative from local health department, State agency, or Federal staff who administer the SFSP • Work with site supervisor to ensure smooth food service operations 23
Reminders • Sponsor and site supervisors should know their responsibilities. • Meals served must meet meal pattern requirements in order to be eligible for reimbursement. • The four core messages of Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill will help to keep food safe. • From time to time, your site may have official visitors who will want to talk with you about the food service. 24
