What is a Sugar Skull? • Sugar skulls are made to represent a departed soul, artists write their name on the forehead and then place them on the home ofrenda or gravestone to honor the loved one who passed away. Sugar skull art reflects the folk art style of big happy smiles, colorful icing and sparkly tin and glittery adornments.
