Success Story. Granite Shield. The Granite Shield Story For more than 30 years I’ve sold advertising. I’ve seen it work. . . I “knew” it worked. But 6 years ago it got personal and I experienced it “working” first hand! My husband, Don Strothman is the owner & President of Granite Shield of Southwest Florida. You may have seen his television commercials? When Don started Granite Shield, he did so after the economic downturn hit the construction industry hard in this area. He needed to pivot and he found Granite Shield. In his first 18 months, he dabbled with various advertising but admittedly it was more of a trial by error (mostly error) and not focused and consistent. He tried print in a targeted home improvement publication, he tried yellow pages, and he tried direct mail, all with minimal results. We both knew at that time that his business wasn’t going as well as he wanted so I offered to help him by building a solid, consistent, and affordable television and interactive plan. But my offer was contingent on his agreement to follow my advice and that he had to be patient, after all, we needed to educate consumers on what Granite Shield was and build his brand credibility so they could respond. He also needed to agree that he wouldn’t judge the results for the first 90 days and understand that it wouldn’t be until the 6 month point that he would really feel the impact.

Success Story. Granite Shield. With the help of a professional producer, we created an impactful video commercial and ran it across multiple networks and on the internet. Don was no different than many clients I’ve worked with over my career; during the first month he stated several times “it’s not working”. I advised patience. Then the phone did began to ring. And then on cue, at the 90 day point, he was getting consistent calls most every day. After 6 months, he was receiving multiple calls daily! It was so exciting because for so many years I “knew” what I was advising clients to do would and did work —but now I could “believe” in my heart that it did from this first-hand experience. Granite Shield has grown year over year by upwards of 20% for the past 6 years. Granite Shield has gone from a handful of appointments on the schedule to being booked up for weeks out. Booked out Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter…booked out in “Season” and off-season! The key was a strong video commercial, running it across multiple television networks and the internet, being consistent and patient! It’s a real small business success story!
