WHAT IS SUBJECT VERB AGREEMENT? Subject verb agreement simply means the subject and verb must agree in number. This means both need to be singular or both need to be plural.
WHAT ARE INDEFINITE PRONOUNS Indefinite pronouns are words which replace nouns without specifying which noun they replace.
RULES RELATING TO INDEFINITE PRONOUN �The indefinite pronouns ”anyone”, “everyone”, “someone”, “nobody” are always singular and, therefore, require singular verbs. �Everyone has done his or her homework. �Somebody has left her purse.
RULES RELATED TO INDEFINITE PRONOUN Indefinite pronouns, like collective nouns, can be singular or plural, depending on how they are used in a sentence. Singular indefinite pronouns take a singular verb; plural indefinite pronouns take a plural verb. Here are some guidelines to follow:
RULES RELATED TO INDEFINITE PRONOUNS �Indefinite pronouns that end in -one are always singular. These words include anyone, everyone, someone, and one. �Indefinite pronouns that end in body are always singular. These words include anybody, somebody, nobody.
