Date: 5. 4. 20 Lesson Objective: Mark Mr Smith’s letter Today we are going to look at an example letter written by Mr Smith. Activity: Look at the example letter and hunt for the mistakes. Count how many you can find. The letter will be on the next slide and on the slide after, I will highlight the mistakes I found so you can see if you found them all. Some mistakes are missing punctuation Some mistakes are because they don’t fit into letter writing e. g. Starting a letter with ‘Yo’ or saying ‘What’s up’ There are no right or wrong answers just see what you find.
Dear Form Tutor YO! My name is Mr Smith and I am writing to you to say what’s up. This year I wrote a story about Frankenstein which I was proud of. My best day at Primary school was when we dressed up as donkeys in year 2. I will tell you a few quick facts about me. 1) I hate cheese I think I would make an excellent astronaut 3) I would like to attempt the world record for eating the most cake in 10 minutes. If I had a time machine I would go into the past and visit the dinosaurs. I would take a horse saddle with me and try to ride a medium sized dinosaur (one with small teeth. I have given much thought to who wood win in a battle between ninjas or pirates and have decided that although ninjas have the better training pirates have the better weapons and this would be decisive.
