Are we prepared? n n n In case of an emergency are you and your team members prepared for the worst? Don’t leave anything for the last moment! Building specific fire plan training classes are strongly recommended especially for large facilities with 100 or more people. Remember!! NO ONE is immune to fire!!

What can we do? n n Train…. . There is no better way to be prepared then to train for an emergency. No one is safe from unseen dangers… know your emergency procedures and you increase your chances for success. What can I do to prevent an emergency? Know what’s safe and what to look for in unsafe conditions, it could save your life

How can we be prepared Up date your fire plan… n Do your daily weekly and monthly inspections. n Practice your fire drills a minimum of 4 times a year n Train all new staff members as soon as they begin work. n Never take safety or prevention lightly. n

Can we Train Ourselves? n n It is recommend to use an experienced Fire Protection Trainer to provide initial training for all involved with the emergency procedures on an annual basis. All persons properly trained must practice what they have learned for a period of 1 year then a refresher course is required.

What if we don’t want to train? Expense is no excuse for lack of training. In Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Laws Stipulate particular employer /employee responsibilities when it concerns fire and life safety training. n Don’t be the one caught by a fire n

What is our responsibility as Tenants? n All tenants have the responsibility to know their building’s fire and emergency procedures as stipulated in the Ontario Fire Code … NO ONE IS EXEMPT FROM FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY RESPONSIBILTY!
