Education is the process of learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and habits.

Studying requires many different skills, such as: v time-management, v self discipline, v concentration, v memorization, v organization, and effort.

v. When studying, it is a good idea to incorporate a variety of sources. v. Sometimes one textbook is too hard to understand, and another source is needed.

It has been found that using more than one source while studying, increases understanding

Textbooks are manuals of instruction in any branch of study.

Handouts are something given freely or distributed to those in need.

Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use to link billions of devices worldwide.

Media -the main means of mass communication (broadcasting, publishing, and the Internet) regarded collectively.

Lectures An educational talk to an audience, especially students in a university.

Biographies Biography-An account of someone's life written by someone else. Biographies considered as a literary genre. Autobiography- an account of a person's life written by that person.

Diary- A book in which one keeps a daily record of events and experiences.

Some people prefer studying from single material.

ü Some people contend that multiple sources are more suitable for learning. They consider it is more effective.

Comparing with single sources, multiple sources tend to create richer understanding, engage facts, circumstances.

Studying with multiple sources has a number of disadvantages as well • Challenges in understanding of the received material because of their academic nature and tremendous size • time consumptions owing to the variety of sources

Identifying Primary and Secondary Resources A primary source provides direct or firsthand evidence and the original materials. They include: • • Autobiographies Diaries, personal letters Interviews, surveys email, blogs • Audio and video recordings • Government documents • Books, magazine and newspaper articles published at the time • Speeches • Original documents (birth certificates, property deeds, trial transcripts)

Identifying Secondary Resources Secondary sources describe, discuss, interpret, analyze, evaluate and summarize primary sources. They include: • Reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias • Articles from magazines, journals, and newspapers after the event • Literature reviews and review articles (e. g. , movie reviews, book reviews) • History books and other popular or scholarly books • Commentaries • Textbooks
