What IS Wisdom? 3

The root word for wisdom in the Old Testament is Strong’s Hebrew dictionary number 2451, and in the New Testament it is Strong’s Greek dictionary number 4678. Both words have the meanings of practical wisdom applied in daily life. 4 What IS Wisdom?

Wisdom can be developed from understanding gained in life experiences. In a higher sense wisdom is a deeper natural knowledge that gives moral insights. Verse correction – it should be Revelation 21: 8 There is also the enlightened understanding that comes from God. 5 What IS Wisdom?

Isaiah 11: 2 And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, the Spirit of WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, the Spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. 6

Proverbs 8: 1 Does not wisdom CALL, and understanding LIFT UP her VOICE? 7

Proverbs 8: 11 For wisdom is better than jewels; and all desirable things cannot compare with her. 8

Proverbs 8: 22 – Wisdom speaks, “The LORD POSSESSED me at the BEGINNING of His way, BEFORE His works of old. ” 15

God employed WISDOM as His master craftsman in creation! Psalm 104: 24 O LORD, how many are Thy works! IN WISDOM Thou hast made them all, the earth is full of Thy possessions. 16

Jeremiah 10: 12 It is He Who made the earth by His POWER, Who established the world by His WISDOM, and by His UNDERSTANDING He has stretched out the heavens. 17 God employed WISDOM as His master craftsman in creation!

The Woman “WISDOM” – Proverbs 9: 7 -8 [7] The one CORRECTING a SCOFFER gets DISHONOR for himself, and the one REPROVING a WICKED man gets INSULTS for himself. 29
