Revelation 18: 1 -8 HEAVENS Decree – Babylon IS FALLEN !

Revelation 18: 1 [1] After these things I saw ANOTHER ANGEL coming down out from heaven, HAVING GREAT AUTHORITY, and the earth was illumined with his glory.

Revelation 18: 9 -19 Those of the EARTH Who MOURN for the Woman!

3 Groups were SEDUCED by the Woman These 3 ALL were DRUNK from the WINE of the WOMAN’S FORNICATIONS [17: 2].

The NATIONS [14: 8; 17: 2; 18: 3] – The KINGS of the earth [17: 2; 18: 3; 18: 9 -10] – The MERCHANTS [18: 3] – every shipmaster; sailor; passenger; and ALL who made their living by the sea [vs 17] 3 Groups were SEDUCED by the Woman

BUT she was MOURNED ONLY by Two Groups 1. The KINGS of the earth [vs 9 -10] – 2. and the MERCHANTS [11 -19] –

Revelation 18: 9 -10 – the KINGS of the earth… Were those who HAD COMMITTED FORNICATION with her [vs 9]; and HAD LIVED IN WANTONESS [vs 9]; WEPT and WAILED when they saw the SMOKE of her BURNING [vs 9]

STOOD FAR OFF because FEAR of her TORMENT [vs 10]; because of HOW QUICKLY [ONE HOUR] her JUDGMENT HAD COME [vs 10]; Revelation 18: 9 -10 – the KINGS of the earth

Revelation 18: 11 -19 – the MERCHANTS of the earth… WEPT and SORROWED … NOT BECAUSE of her JUDGMENT … BUT BECAUSE NO ONE BUYS their CARGOES ANYMORE [vs 11];

AND BECAUSE… the FRUIT their “ SOUL’S DESIRED ” [riches from sales] WERE LOST [vs 14]! THEREFORE, GONE was their “LUXURIOUS” and “SPLENDID” LIFESTYLE [vs 14]! Revelation 18: 11 -19 – the MERCHANTS of the earth

THESE ALSO… who HAD BECOME RICH from her… were WEEPING and MOURNING… STANDING at a DISTANCE… BECAUSE of FEAR of TORMENT [vs 15]! Revelation 18: 11 -19 – the MERCHANTS of the earth

BOTH groups LAMENTED BECAUSE… of HOW QUICKLY [ONE HOUR] their GREAT WEALTH BECAME NOTHING ! Revelation 18: 11 -19 – the MERCHANTS of the earth

Revelation 18: 20 The SOUND of REJOICING !

Revelation 18: 20 [20] “ REJOICE over her, O HEAVEN, and you SAINTS and APOSTLES and PROPHETS, BECAUSE GOD has MADE JUDGMENT AGAINST her for you. ”

Revelation 18: 21 -24 The SILENCE and DARKNESS of the TOMB !

Revelation 18: 21 [21] And a strong angel TOOK UP a STONE like a great millstone and THREW IT INTO THE SEA, saying, “THUS WILL BABYLON, the great city, BE THROWN DOWN WITH VIOLENCE, and WILL NOT BE FOUND any longer.

Revelation 18: 22 -23 b – SILENCE of the Tomb 1) The SOUND of mechanical MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS , the SYMBOLS of JOY, GLADNESS and FESTIVE PARTYING would NO LONGER be HEARD [vs 22]!

2. The SOUND of CRAFTSMEN , WHATSOEVER their craft , would NO LONGER be HEARD [vs 22]! CRAFTSMANSHIP is SYMBOLIC of BUSINESS and COMMERCE! Revelation 18: 22 -23 b – SILENCE of the Tomb

3) And the SOUND of a MILL , SYMBOLIC of that which is ESSENTIAL to SUSTAINING LIFE , would NO LONGER be HEARD [vs 22]! Revelation 18: 22 -23 b – SILENCE of the Tomb

4) the VOICE of the BRIDEGROOM and BRIDE, the SYMBOL of PROPAGATION of BOTH FAMILY and LIFE , would NO LONGER be HEARD [vs 23 b]! Revelation 18: 22 -23 b – SILENCE of the Tomb

Revelation 18: 23 a – the DARKNESS of the Tomb The LIGHT of a LAMP WILL NOT SHINE ANY LONGER – The ABSENCE of the LIVING of DAY to DAY LIFE and BUSINESS!
