Stand fast in the faith • Στήκω (steko) to continue in your present state. Not retreating or surrendering. • In our spiritual warfare we must stand our ground.

Be strong • Κραταιόω (krataiou), to have confidence, especially in victory • Eph. 3: 16, “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, ”

Be strong • Militarily, the confidence displayed in victory. The motivational speech before the battle (noting the cause, etc. ) • In our spiritual battle, as we strive and win we gain confidence.
