Linux: Überblick An dieser Stelle soll ein aktueller Überblick über die zur Verfügung stehenden Technologien und Strategien im Linux-Umfeld gegeben werden. Im Kern der Betrachtungen stehen dabei die Synergiepotenziale verschiedener Technologien am Beispiel von Su. SE und Novell. Aus der Sicht von Lösungen wie z. B. Identity Management, soll die Stellung von Betriebssystemen neu definiert werden. Erhärtet sollen die Ausführungen durch die Strategien aktueller Hersteller wie z. B. Eingebettete Systeme können kleiner gemacht werden, andererseits skaliert der Kernel besser auf » große « Hardware mit mehr als vier Prozessoren. Und uc. Linux, eine Variante ohne Hardware-Speicherverwaltung, ist in den Kernel integriert. • Unterscheidung von » Subarchitekturen «, d. h.
