Characteristics of Objectives • Precise – Vague – know, appreciate, understand – Precise – define, describe, repair, analyze • Measurable • Use action verb

Sample Objectives • Which are complete, well stated, and precise? – The student will learn the major parts of the internal combustion engine. – You will outline the dietary requirements for an adult female who is moderately active. – You will be given a list of terms, and you will know all terms listed.

Criteria for Well Written Objectives • ABCD Objectives – Audience – “The student” – Behavior – action verb – Condition – circumstances • • Equipment, supplies, or materials provided Materials denied access Setting performance demonstrated Information provided – Degree – Mastery level/Degree of proficiency
