The minutes following cardiac arrest are critical in the survival of the victim. When the heart stops beating, oxygenated blood stops flowing to vital organs, and death can occur. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a way for you to help that person. Knowing CPR can save someone’s life, and is a great thing to know how to do. In this webquest, you will learn more about basic CPR techniques. Although there are many variations and certifications of CPR, being able to perform the basic steps can be the difference between life or death for a friend, family member, or stranger in need of help. You may have come into this Webquest with some prior knowledge of CPR, however, practice makes perfect as doing everything correctly under pressure will be difficult. Being able to perform these simple tasks may be the difference between life or death for someone you love. Remember, this Webquest is not a certification, and taking real classes through the Red Cross or American Heart Association is definitely recommended.
