Campaign Materials l Materials must be prepared off campus— not during class time. l All campaign materials (posters, fliers, buttons, etc. ) must be approved by class sponsors. No negative signs will be allowed. Be positive!
Where and how. . . l Posters and other campaign materials may only be hung in the houses. l No materials on windows, lockers, or doors, or on Main Street l No materials in classrooms or bathrooms.
l Materials need to be hung with staples—no tape No glitter!
Do’s and Don’ts Do’s l All campaign materials must be properly disposed of by 3: 00 pm on the day the balloting closes. Don’ts l No candy, gum, or food allowed l No campaigning during class
Speeches l l Students will give a one-minute campaign speech on camera some time next week. This script speech must be turned in to the sponsors by next Tuesday. Speech will be filmed in Mr. Smith’s room, after school or by appointment. Dress for success!
To Schedule Speeches l Sign up on Google docs l Get a pass from your sponsor or Ms. Sahmel l All speeches must be filmed during 4 th or 5 th period in room 2503. Sign up for which ever one works for you. http: //www. humbleisd. net/Page/17305
No Fear Speech Rehearsal You need to rehearse your speech in front of your sponsor, your parents, and/or friends before recording it!
Voting l Balloting will take place online during social studies classes. l Votes will be tallied online. l The winners will be posted on the Student Council website announced by 8: 00 on the day following the ballot’s closing.
