STUDENT CARE SERVICES • Student Care Services (SCS) offers guidance, resources, and referrals to UCF students who are experiencing a distressing situation which significantly impacts academic or personal success. • The SCS team coordinates referrals to campus and community resources, develops action plans for student success, oversees the Student of Concern process, and provides education and outreach to university and community members. • Our goal is to intervene before a student reaches crisis level and ensure the safety of both the student and the UCF community. • SCS also oversees UCF Cares, an umbrella of care-related programs, resources and staff dedicated to fostering a caring community of Knights.

CASE MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENT CARE SERVICES • A broker for students of concern who are experiencing issues that may include, but are not limited to: – Health and wellness – Emotional distress – Disruptive and addictive behaviors – Financial and homelessness concerns – Academic struggles

EDU: Resource and referral process for anyone who is concerned about a student – Report is reviewed and file is created in Maxient – Care Manager contacts person who submits report within 24 business hours – Care Manager schedules the student to meet as soon as possible – Baker Acts/Marchman Act referred for Mandated Assessment and additional follow up – Other students on case-by-case basis

STUDENT OF CONCERN TEAM Mission|Vision|Goals Mission: Provide students with wrap-around care by reviewing Students of Concern consistently and comprehensively with university partners. Vision: Assisting the university with ongoing monitoring of Students of Concern in order to support university's five key goals. Student of Concern Team Goals: • • • Provide an outlet for the UCF community to address concerns about a UCF student Review potential concerns presented by the UCF community regarding student behavior on or off campus Offer knowledge of university resources and procedures Providing realistic action plan items and resources, based on available information, for student success Make further recommendations to Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities regarding the Student of Concern Provide ongoing monitoring of the student’s progress during their UCF career

Vision: Assisting students who may be a harm to themselves or others by providing appropriate action and support through means provided by the university. Goals for University Crisis Committee: • • • Provide an outlet for the UCF community to review students who may be a harm to themselves or others Review potential concerns presented by the UCF community regarding student behavior on or off campus Offer knowledge of university resources and procedures Providing realistic action plan items for Student Care Services, based on available information, for student success Make further recommendations to Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities regarding the Student of Concern Discussion further university actions including Involuntary Withdrawal or Medical Withdrawal
