Structured System Analysis and Design (SSADM) • • Definition: It is the system development methodology was adapted as a standard for all British govt. projects in 1980. it represents the data oriented approach to system development and is based on three fold view of the system. • Data as modeled with ERM • Functions are modeled with DFD • Events will modeled with ELH SSADM Philosophy: • An accurate understanding of the system can obtained by looking the system in three ways : Processes , data and event • The separation of logical design from the physical design of the system allows the analyst to break free from the existing way of doing things and to be more innovative • User involvement at significant points in the process ensures the development always meets the business needs

Features of SSADM: • It describes the way of system development • It divides

Features of SSADM: • It describes the way of system development • It divides the system development into phases which are further broken down into stages and then into steps and finally into tasks. • It can be used for the development of many systems

Structure of SSADM: • • • Phase-1: Feasibility Study Problem definition Project identification Phase-2
