Series of data to be transmitted • Series 1 X: Services (NACE Rev. 2 Sections H to J and L to N and division 95) • Series 2 X: Industry (NACE Rev. 2 Sections B, C, D, and E) • Series 3 X: Distributive trade (NACE Rev. 2 Section G) • Series 4 X: Construction (NACE Rev. 2 Section F) • Series 5 X: Insurance services (NACE Rev. 2 division 65 except for group 65. 3) 4

2. Technical format • What form should the data be transmitted? ->Technical format is laid down in Regulation 250/2009 • Why? • Least possible errors when importing the data in our Oracle OLAP database 7

Technical format • Set of records • Record = description of characteristics of data (country, year, economic activity, . . . ) + data + explanatory notes • All levels of aggregation of breakdowns to be provided • Confidential data to be sent with true value + flag (including secondary confidential cells) 8
2. Technical format • One file per series of data • Standard file names to be used • Complete data sets including records for data that is not available (‘na’) • Monetary data in thousands of national currency • Data not respecting technical format is considered not being sent 9

2. c. Data value • data equal to zero (coded '0'): Real values of zero only (phenomenon is not existing or rounded value of existing phenomenon) • data not available (coded ‘na’): This is data which is not collected in a Member State. Only in very exceptional cases allowed (derogations 1%-rule). 15

2. g. Examples • Example 1: Confidential data: dominance by one enterprise. The number of persons employed (2700) in France in 2008 for enterprises of 50 to 249 persons employed for NACE C 1411 is confidential. One enterprise dominates the data and represents 92% of employment. This is provisional data. 19
2. g. Examples • Example 2: Size class data The turnover of the retail sale of foods (NACE Rev. 2 G 472) in Luxembourg in 2008 with an annual turnover between 1 and 2 million EUR was 25123000 EUR. It is revised data. Data is not confidential. 20
2. g. Examples • Example 3: Business services data Germany declares for the activities of NACE Rev. 2 group 62 that Euro 250123000 of turnover is generated by publishing services of computer games in 2008. The data is non-confidential. 21
2. i. Transmission format • Comma separated value "csv" format • No thousand separators in values • 1 file per series: Annex 1 limited to activities of NACE H, I, (J) and K: EDIFLOW codes 22
