Strict What does “strict” mean? Lesson 1

Share • Share how you use your time each day. How many things can you do in one day? • If you try to make a sand castle, what’s the difference between sand that is packed tightly together and sand that is loosely scattered around?

What does “strict” mean? • Using time wisely and seizing opportunities. • A strict person has goals and plans. A strict person is not lazy and does not waste time. • A strict person does things diligently and accurately. • A strict person is genuine and exact.

Walking According to God’s Heart’s Desire

There once was a young man who did many sinful and bad things. Eventually, he contracted a lung disease and was on the brink of death. An elderly man who served God came to him to preach the gospel. He told the young man that the Lord Jesus bore all of his sins on the cross and that if he repented, he could receive the Lord Jesus as his savior.

At first the young man was unsure. He thought, “Can the Lord save someone as sinful as me? ” However, when the young man finally received the Lord, his heart was filled with joy and peace.

After many days, the elderly man came to see him again, but the young man was very depressed. “Why the long face? ”, asked the elderly man, “Don’t believe Satan’s lies and tricks!” “I know my sins have been forgiven, ” replied the young man.

“But when the time comes for me to meet the Lord, what will I give to Him? I don’t have anything to give Him! I can’t just go to see Him with empty hands. ”

The elderly man reassuringly said, “Brother, don’t worry! I will use what you have said to write a hymn. Whenever people are touched by this hymn and saved by the Lord, the credit will go to you and you will have something to bring to the Lord. ” Then the elderly man wrote the hymn “Must I go, and emptyhanded. ”

"Must I go, and empty-handed, " Thus my dear Redeemer meet? Not one day of service give Him, Lay no trophy at His feet? "Must I go, and empty-handed? " Must I meet my Savior so? Not one soul with which to greet Him: Must I empty-handed go?

As a result, many people were touched by this hymn and gave themselves to serve the Lord. Even though this young man lost many years of his life, he had a heart for the Lord, and the Lord did not let him go empty-handed.

Let’s use our time wisely! We need to redeem the time. God said that we can redeem the time that we wasted. If we are strict with our time, we can get back a thousand days with just one day! We need to keep walking according to God’s heart’s desire.

Teach us then to number our days That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90: 12

Psalm 90: 12 is Moses’ prayer to God. Moses became God’s useful vessel. He brought the children of Israel out of Egypt to worship God in the wilderness. Moses could do this because he was genuine, exact, and strict. We also need to pray for the Lord to teach us to number our days so that we do not waste our time!

Practice Makes Perfect! • Make or rearrange your schedule so that you can use your time more effectively. • Don’t be lazy or sloppy when you do homework or house chores.
