STRENGTHS AND LEADERSHIP BY JESSE MARTINEZ
STRENGTHS FINDER • My Results were • Learner • Restorative • Achiever • Woo • Individualization
LEARNER • Learner was ranked highest, and rightly so. • It is an objective of mine to learn something new everyday in order to improve myself. • I feel as if this is the most valuable characteristic.
RESTORATIVE • I see this appearing in my leadership style frequently. • I love to bring forth results from a previously dying setting. • I am not a product of my surroundings. Rather, I can succeed no matter what the setting.
ACHIEVER • Sloth is a sin. Perfection is never meant to be achieved by humans, but should always be perused. • I have to achieve X amount before I can eat everyday. Nothing less than a 4. 00.
WOO • People are people, and follow fairly basic patterns. • Its not very difficult to win people over. • Step one: Don’t care about what they think about you.
INDIVIDUALIZATION • I agree with this one the least, most likely correlated to the fact that it matches me the least. • Most people fit into some sort of bracket. • Isn’t stereotyping me what this test is made to do?
DOMINO’S • I was an asst. manager for Domino’s, and quickly took on a mass of responsibility. • I had to learn very quickly how to work the job and manage a store by myself. I was in charge, everything was my responsiblity.
DOMINO’S • As the leader of the store, during my shifts, I was directly responsible for the numbers being generated. My restorative qualities would bring me joy to see a functioning store under my command.
DOMINO’S • As an achiever, I would except no less than the best numbers possible. I frequently competed against other stores, and forced others to raise their standards regarding their own work ethics.
DOMINO’S • I always treated those well who worked for me well, cook them food, give them easier jobs, never let the drivers go to suspicious houses alone, etc. … It’s important to treat employees well in order to boost moral.
DOMINO’S • Individualization is key to leading a team. Any team will fail if the correct people are not in the correct positions. As manager I had to place specific workers in places I knew would drive optimal results.
CONCLUSION • I have seen these five strengths appear in my leadership numerous times. • I hope to further my abilities and expand my strengths.
