WHY ARE WE HERE TODAY? We want to hear from you! § In March, the board of education passed The Resolution for Strengthening Neighborhoods. § The resolution established a citywide committee affirming our commitment to operating and sustaining high-quality, socio-economically integrated schools in our communities § We believe that high-quality, integrated schools not only offer the best educational outcomes for our children but also serve a vital function in promoting and sustaining vibrant neighborhoods. STRENGTHENING NEIGHBORHOODS Mission § Research indicates that high-quality, integrated schools offer both improved educational outcomes for our children and serve a vital role in promoting and sustaining vibrant neighborhoods. § Our committee’s mission is to develop recommendations to increase integration and inclusion in all of our schools and to effectively address issues associated with the declining number of school - aged children in impacted areas of the city.
