Welcome from Chris Sanderson, General Manager Procurement Thank you for your interest in joining the Procurement Team here at NHS Lanarkshire has a trade spend with third party suppliers of over £ 230 m with the Procurement Department providing a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions. This includes strategic sourcing and advice to improve effectiveness and value for money on all expenditure for goods, services and works. The Strategic Sourcing Officer post is key to delivering our procurement strategy, helping deliver value for money through strategic sourcing. Job Specification Job Title Strategic Sourcing Officer Department Procurement (which sits within the Finance Directorate) Responsible to Strategic Sourcing Manager Work Location NHS Lanarkshire Headquarters, Kirklands, Bothwell Role Overview The Strategic Sourcing Officer is responsible for supporting NHS Lanarkshire’s Procurement Department to deliver an effective, high quality procurement service for all parts of NHS Lanarkshire. Clear leadership, direction and drive are essential to the role. The post holder will manage end-to-end procurement processes across a range of commodity areas, with varying contract values and complexity. The post holder will develop and maintain expertise in procurement theory and practice in order to provide solutions and strategies which further the Board’s aims and objectives. A key aim of the post holder will be formulating and implementing – in line with the department’s strategic objectives – procurement strategies which deliver value for money, sustainable and compliant outcomes.
