OVERARCHING GOAL Together, building a more just world economy
BROAD GOAL 1 To be recognized as the global membership body for Fair Trade Organizations seeking to empower groups of vulnerable craft producers, farmers and workers through trade
BROAD GOAL 2 To be a space where members connect with each other - to work together, to cooperate, collaborate and share innovative ideas and learning. To enable members to access tools and training to improve market access locally, regionally and internationally.
BROAD GOAL 3 To create a common voice that shouts loudly about Fair Trade and trade justice - and is heard. To have the leadership, capacity, resources and structures for good network governance which enable the WFTO to be dynamic, flexible and healthy.
1 MEMBERSHIP AND NETWORK
Strong global network based on regional and national networks, with clear membership criteria and fee structure
WFTO FT Guarantee System (credible and affordable) implemented including product label usage External certification of he system
WFTO Mark and Product Label promotion to grow recognition around the globe outline and promote FT values
2 COMMUNICATIONS
Online community platform for improved internal communication, global exchange, capacity building, market access support, shared learning and transparency
Provide platform for regional/country networks to discuss issues of common/specific concern
Hold global conferences and regional meetings
3 MARKET ACCESS AND MARKET DEVELOPMENT
WFTO Fair Trade System with label component as facilitator of market access
WFTO International Fair Trade Fair
WFTO membership representation at major international fairs
Market access and market development toolkit exchange
4 A common voice
Enhance WFTO´s ability to articulate in public space the true meaning of FT, critically to discuss & analyze relevant events & happenings and to challenge corporate business to "raise their game" thereby raising awareness of Fair Trade at all levels
