GOVERNMENT’S COMMITMENT AND DIRECTIONS FOR STI DEVELOPMENT 5 main directions for STI development: 1. Promote HRST development. 2. Initiate and expand R&D investment and administration. 3. Strengthen STI foundation and infrastructure with establishment of Cambodia Institute of Science and Technology (CIST) for R&D Center (coutilization of R&D facility and equipment), HRST development, and STI management and administration. 4. Establish and strengthen national STI information system. 5. Strengthen international cooperation for support in HRST development, infrastructure, STI information system, and knowledge sharing. 12
