THEME The message or lesson about life. The theme is interwoven throughout the story.
Once upon a time there was a mother pig with three little pigs. They grew so big that she said, "You are too big to live here any longer. Go and build houses for yourselves, but take care that the wolf does not catch you. "
As they set off, they soon met a man carrying some straw, and the 1 st little pig said, “Will you give me some? I want to build a house for myself. " "Yes, " said the man, & he gave the 1 st little pig some straw.
Then the 1 st little pig built himself a straw house. He finished quickly, just in time for his afternoon nap. He was very pleased and said, "Now the wolf won't catch and eat me. "
The 2 nd & 3 rd little pigs went on along the road and soon met a man carrying some sticks. “Will you give me some? I want to build a house for myself, “ said the 2 nd little pig. "Yes, " said the man, & he gave the 2 nd little pig some sticks.
The 2 nd little pig quickly built himself a stick house, and it was stronger than the house of straw. The 2 nd little pig was very pleased and said, "Now the wolf won't catch and eat me. "
The 3 rd little pig walked on along the road by himself and soon met a man carrying some bricks. “Will you give me some? I want to build a house for myself. " "Yes, " said the man, & he gave him some bricks.
Now the 3 rd little pig built himself a brick house, and it took a long time, for it was a very strong house. The 3 rd little pig was very pleased with his sturdy house and said, "Now the wolf won't catch me and eat me. "
The next day the wolf came along to the house of straw. He knocked on the door and said, "Little pig, let me come in. "
"Not by the hair of my chinny chin, I won’t let you in. " "Then I'll huff & I'll puff & I'll blow your house in, " said the wolf. And he huffed & puffed & blew the straw house to smithereens. The 1 st little pig ran to his brother’s stick house.
The next day the wolf came to the house of sticks. When the 2 nd little pig saw the wolf coming, he and his brother ran inside. The wolf knocked and said, "Little pigs, let me come in. "
"Not by the hairs of our chinny chins, we won’t let you in. " "Then I'll huff & I'll puff & I'll blow your house in, " yelled the wolf. And he huffed & puffed, & he scattered the sticks like twigs. The two little pigs ran to their oldest brother’s brick house.
Now the next day the wolf came to the house of bricks. And inside the 3 little pigs were “passin a fine time, ” playing Pedro & cooking a big pot of gumbo. Suddenly, the wolf knocked and said, "Little pigs, let me come in. "
And they stopped their game and said, "Not by the hairs of our chinny chins. " "Then I'll huff & I'll puff & I'll blow Root your house in, " said Beer the wolf. And he huffed & puffed, & huffed & puffed… Eat More Chicken!
But the house of bricks did not fall down.
But the clever wolf had an idea…
He climbed up the roof & shouted down, "Little pigs, I smell bacon! I’m coming down your chimney, & I’m going to eat you up!" And the little pigs were very frightened…
The wolf began down the chimney, and the 3 rd little pig took off the lid of the gumbo pot. Splash! Into the boiling pot fell the wolf! And that was the end of him.
The three little pigs enjoyed their gumbo, even though there was a little fur in it. With a smile on his face, the 1 st little pig said, “Hm, tastes like chicken. ” And they lived happily ever after!
