Concepts and definitions Stop Searching, Start Matching • HKUPOP Employees were asked to rate their job satisfaction using a five-point scale ranging from “very satisfied”, “quite satisfied”, “half-half”, “not quite satisfied” and “not satisfied at all”. • Employers were asked to estimate their employees’ job satisfaction using the same scale. • Those who answered “very satisfied” or “quite satisfied” (the top 2 boxes) are grouped as “overall satisfied”, whereas those who picked “not quite satisfied” or “not satisfied at all” are grouped as “overall dissatisfied”. Jobs and the Public Opinion Programme (POP) of the University of Hong Kong. • Sampling – Random telephone survey conducted by interviewers – Target respondents were HK working population of age 18 or above • Frequency of Study – Quarterly • Sample Size – 1, 000 successful cases per quarter Successful Cases: 2008 - 1 st quarter (2008 Q 1): 1, 003 cases 2008 - 2 nd quarter (2008 Q 2): 1, 005 cases 2008 - 3 rd quarter (2008 Q 3): 1, 003 cases Total : 3, 011 Headline.
