Ornua & Leek High: Work Experience: Events & Activities: Careers at Ornua Foods UK – Cheesy Career Challenge Dragons Den Event Certificate Evening Careers Evenings Welcoming in two students for work experience in July 2019 National Apprenticeship Week: 30 students 5 apprentices 2 x 1 hour workshops Site Visits: 60 students have visited in 2 -years
Ornua & Leek High: Understanding where the school need support and being an ambassador within the community Ornua are committed to being an Employer of Choice, but no one know what we do! Why? Opportunity to current Ornua apprenticeship to help share their experience of apprenticeships. By working closer with Leek High, we can help retain our future talent in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Business Breakfast – Building Connections with Local Businesses Over 30 local businesses Over 35 teachers Workshop to look at: • Where businesses can support • Where teachers need the support
• • Changing our understanding and show that we are not just about helping them achieve good results, but to also help get them ready for the world of work • • A connexion with every lesson (included with objectives) Teachers have their WOW bio on their door, with their own career pathway on it. Our business cards have a WOW logo Every department has a WOW notice board dedicated to their subject Our TV in the school entrance has the WOW factor, with our forever changing alumni Teachers are responsible for getting WOW visits into school i. e. universities/companies etc We write it down and review just like you would do in industry (if an event doesn’t work we change or even get rid of it) Because of uexplore, we can target specific students for their own WOW factor WOW Work Experience for all Year 10, 12 and 13 students WOW Business Breakfast, listening to and working with teachers and businesses Taking a more professional approach by using Eventbrite
