Steve Jobs a transformational leader
An Idealized Influence ● Steve Jobs was undoubtedly a transformational leader. ● Though some may say he wasn't a role model because of his aggressive and tough managerial behavior, I believe that is what essentially got him to the top ● He always had a goal to make products “insanely great” and that is what he did ● He showed people that if you never give up, great things can happen
Inspirational Motivation ● Steve Jobs has a vision of the products he wanted to create and pushed until it could happen ● He fostered collaboration to make his vision a reality, even if it came off harsh. ● He instilled that everyone do whatever they can to get to where they want to be. There were essentially no limits, and that was motivation in itself.
Intellectual Stimulation ● Jobs was well known for pushing his employees extremely hard ● He encouraged them to get out of their comfort zones and accomplish things they never knew they could ● He wanted innovation and would pursue an idea regardless of how long it would take
Individualized Consideration ● Being such a powerful leader, Steve Jobs definitely coached his employees ● He wasn’t always looked at as a great manager, but he knew how to build a team that was able to work together to achieve success ● A great thing he did as a leader was his ability to find self actualization. He created technology differently to change the lives of those around him, and he was able to inspire this upon his colleagues and followers.
