Idealized Influence He was an incredibly strong role model Telling Larry Kenyon that he could decrease the boot-up time by 5 seconds for the Macintosh. Kenyon decreased the boot-up time by 28 seconds after Jobs speech to him. He told the CEO at Corning that they could create scratch proof gorilla glass for the iphones. Corning said this was impossible and the glass wasn’t being made anymore. After Jobs talked to them, the glass was made for all the iphones in 6 months. Coring is still the company that makes the glass for the iphones. Even though Jobs was being risky, these people trusted and respected his ideas and decisions.
Inspirational Motivation “Our job is to read things that are not yet on the page. ” He never failed to give an emotional appeal to his employees or vendors. Telling them that they CAN do it and they will, but the risk must be taken and hard work must be implemented. He would tell stories about his family and childhood to help inspire employees.
