Washing A Car n n n n n Place the car in an area to be washed. Make sure it is parked and off. Grab the brushes, towels, bucket, nozzle and soap that will be used. Fill the bucket up with water and soap to make bubbles. Then place towels and brushes in the bucket. Place nozzle on the hose. Wash dirt off of the car. Then begin washing and scrubbing the whole car. Then rinse. Last dry the car off. 2

How to put in a DVD n n n n n Pick out a DVD (Casino Royale) Open the DVD case Take out the DVD Open the DVD player Put DVD in the DVD player Close the DVD player Wait for the main menu to load Pick up the DVD remote When the main menu loads use the remote to play the movie Sit down and relax 3

How to drive an automatic car n n n First you unlock the car, open the door and get in. Then you put your key into the ignition. You turn the key away from you until the car turns on. You then take the car out of park by holding down the brake and putting it into drive. You then let off of the brake and ease your foot onto the gas pedal and press it softly to get going. 4

Open a soda. n n n 1) we select the soda 2) identfy if its a bottle or a can " in this example we have a can" 3) we grab the can wiht the righ hand 4) with the left we the lead 5) we pull the lead up while we hold the can. 6) we completed the task 5

How to microwave something (food): n n n n 1_Conect the microwave machine to a power source 2_Open the microwaving machine 3_Take the food into it 4_Close the microwave 5_Select the timing (the time you expect the food will be ready) 6_After the alarm goes off, open the microwave and take the food out of it. 7_Close the microwaving machine. You are ready to go. Your food is ready. 7

Doing The Dishes n n n n n 1. Open the dishwasher door. 2. If there are no dishes, proceed to step. If there are dishes, continue to step 3. 3. Remove one item from the dishwasher. 4. Put that item away. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there is nothing left in the dishwasher. 6. Take one item from the sink. 7. Hand wash that item. 8. Pick a place for that item in the dishwasher. 9. Put that item in it’s place. 10. Repeat steps 6 through 9 until the dishwasher is full. 11. Retrieve dishwasher detergent. 12. Fill detergent cup to fill line. 13. Shut door on detergent cup. 14. Fill prewash cup to fill line. 15. Put detergent away. 16. Close dishwasher door. 17. Latch door lock. 18. Set dishwasher wash cycle. 19. Start dishwasher. 20. When dishwasher competes the wash cycle, repeat process. 8

Getting groceries for the house n n n n Set up groceries purchase list Drive to grocery store Pick up cart or basket (depends on the size of grocery list) Select produce Check expiration date Compare prices Pick item based on criteria from steps 6 and 7. Move to next produce Repeat steps 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 for every item until list is completed Check out Double check receipt Drive back home Store groceries 9

If one train leaves heading East towards another train that leaves at the same time but headed West, given the speeds of the two trains and assuming acceleration is not a factor, how long will it take for the two trains to meet? Input- The user will be asked to input the distance the two trains start from each other and the speed the individual trains are traveling. n Output- Since the program only uses integers at this point it will output the number of hours it will take for the trains to meet if they meet on an hour mark if not it will output the distance remaining between the two trains at the last hour mark before they meet. (Once I learn how to use doubles I will be able to get to a answer in minutes) Example: n How far apart are the trains to start: 100 n Enter the speed of Train A traveling East: 10 n Enter the speed of Train B traveling West: 10 n Distance / (Speed of Train A + Speed of Train B) = Time it takes to meet. n Distance – (Time it takes to meet * (Speed. How to cook instant noodles using a microwave. n n n 1. Open the packet. 2. Take out the noodle and its flavor packet. 3. Put the noodle in a microwaveable bowl. 4. Tear the flavor packet and put it over the noodle. 5. Add 2 cups of water to the bowl. 6. Cover the bowl using a large dish. 7. Open a microwave 8. Put it into the microwave. 9. Close the microwave 10. Select the timing of 3 minutes. 11. After hearing the beep from the microwave, open the microwave and take the food out of it. 12. Close the microwave. Brushing Your Teeth: n n n n n 1. Choose a toothbrush 2. Hold toothbrush firmly in your right or left hand. (whichever is more comfortable) 3. Spread toothpaste over the head of the toothbrush. 4. Hold your toothbrush at a comfortable angle in your mouth. 5. In short strokes move your toothbrush back and forth, brushing the outside areas of your upper and lower back teeth. 6. Then brush the outside areas of your upper and lower front teeth. 7. Brush the top and the inside of your upper and lower teeth with the back and forth brushing motion. 8. Brush your tongue 9. Wash your toothbrush off with water. 10. Then wash your mouth out with water. 13

HOW TO FIND A PARKING SPOT IN A BIG PARKING LOT n n n n Drive to the fist row of cars Stop, look left and right for an empty space If no empty space, keep driving, stop and repeat step two. Keep doing this until you get to the end of the row. Go to row two. Repeat steps 2 thru 4. Go to row three. Keep doing this until you find and empty spot. 16

How to make spaghetti n n n n n Gather the necessary ingredients from the grocery store. (Noodles, sauce, 1 lb of meat (optional), and any other ingredients that you prefer in your spaghetti. ) Get a skillet and cook the meat on medium high – high heat until it is brown Simultaneously grab another pot and boil some water with a dash of salt and a tbsp of butter. Once the water has come to a boil, then place the noodles in. After your meat has been browned then grab the sauce of your choice and stir it in with the meat. Bring that mixture to a boil, then simmer while stirring occasionally. After about 10 -15 minutes the check the noodles and make sure that they are the way that you like them. If ready then you can either: a) combine both the noodles and sauce into one big pot or b) put some noodles on a plate then add the sauce as necessary. ENJOY!! 17

Making breakfast n n n n You wake up You think about what you want to have for breakfast How much time will it take to make it After choosing your choice of breakfast, gather the materials needed to make it Follow the instructions on how you are going to cook or bake it depending on your choice Proceed with the instructions with the cooking/baking choice Once you have followed instructions serve yourself as much as you like You are ready to enjoy your meal! 18

How to play xbox 360 n n n n First turn on your television Turn on your xbox 360 push the eject button insert a game pick up the wireless controller connect your headset sit back and enjoy 20

How to Brush You Teeth n n n n n First you need to get you tooth brush and a tube of tooth paste Then turn on the water, wet the tip of the tooth brush. Then apply jus enough tooth paste to the end of your tooth brush to cover all the tips of the bristles Then insert the tooth brush into your mouth and begin a forward and backward motion with you hand The bristles should be touching the teeth. Brush all of you top teeth first then brush all of your bottom teeth. When you think u have brushed all your teeth you can then rinse your mouth out with water over the sink. Rinse off your tooth brush and wipe off your mouth with a towel. but up your tooth paste and tooth brush and your done. 21

Brushing Your Teeth n n n n n Walk to the sink. Pick up the toothbrush. Pick up the toothpaste bottle. Apply toothpaste to the toothbrush bristles and place the toothpaste bottle back. Wet the toothbrush and toothpaste together. Begin brushing your teeth. Move to each tooth while brushing in all directions. Then brush the back of each tooth while brushing in all directions. Remove the toothbrush from your mouth. Spit all the toothpaste out of your mouth in the sink. Turn the water on to rinse the toothpaste from the sink out. Fill a cup of water and squish it around your mouth to clear the excess toothpaste. Spit that into the sink. Dab your mouth and any toothpaste outside your mouth with a towel. Place your toothbrush under running water to clean the bristles. Turn water off and place the toothbrush back as well. Leave the sink and you have successfully brushed your teeth. 22

Making a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich n Take out the required materials n n n n a. 1 b. 2 c. 1 d. 1 e. 1 f. 1 Open jar of peanut butter slices of bread Open jar of jelly Plate Butter knife paper towel Place one piece of bread on the plate Take the butter knife and scoop some peanut butter on it Spread the peanut butter onto the piece of bread evenly using the butter knife scooping more peanut butter if needed Wipe the extra peanut butter off of the butter knife using the paper towel Repeat steps 2 -5 using the jelly instead of the peanut butter Place the two pieces of bread with the peanut butter/jelly side up and place them together. Eat the sandwich Clean up the mess 24

Steps to washing your hair n n n n n find shower, shampoo, and towel turn on water to hot test temp. if too warm, reduce temp. pull up the shower starter thing remove clothes enter shower pull curtain closed wet hair grab shampoo dispense a nickel sized amount into hand put down shampoo lather into hair rinse out turn off shower open curtain exit shower dry off with towel get dressed 25

HOW TO BUY A SODA FROM A VENDING MACHINE n n n n FIRST YOU MUST LOCATE A SAODA VENDING MACHINE. SECOND AFTER LOCATING THE VENDING MACHINE YOU MUST FIND OUT HOW MUCH MONEY YOU NEED TO PURCHASE ONE. THIRD YOU MUST GATHER UP THE EXACT CHANGE OR AT LEAST THE MINIMUM REQUIRED TO PURHCASE THE SODA. FOURTH YOU MUST DECIDE FROM THE VARIETY OF CHOICES AVAILABLE. FIFTH INSERT COINS INTO COIN SLOT OR CORRECT DOLLAR BILL ON BILL INSERT SLOT. MAKE SURE YOU AT LEAST INSERT THE MINIMUM AMOUNT REQUIRED FOR A SINGLE PURCHASE. SIXTH YOU MUST MAKE A SELECTION AND IF NOT AVAILABLE, MAKE A SECOND CHOICE AND SO ON UNTIL YOU FIND THE ONE OF YOUR CHOICE. SEVENTH YOU MUST WAIT FOR SODA TO DROP INTO THE LOWER COMPARTMENT AND PICK IT UP. Computer task program, “playing a DVD on a DVD player. ” n n n n Get any DVD. Turn the DVD player on. Push the eject button on the DVD player. Take the DVD CD out of the case. Insert the DVD CD into the DVD player. Push the eject button again on the DVD player. If DVD starts with movie trailers wait till they end and then press play on the DVD player. If there are no movie trailers, then press play on the DVD player and enjoy the movie. 27

How to get your books at the bookstore: n n n 1. Prepare a list of the books you need 2. Wait in an incredibly long line to drop your backpack off 3. Take ticket from backpack deposit 4. Go inside the bookstore 5. Locate the section labled as the course you are taking 6. Go to the help desk and find out that your books are unavailable 7. Get mad because most of your books are unavailable 8. Calm down 9. Wait in the incredibly long line to check out 10. Buy the books that they did have in stock 11. Leave to bookstore and retreive backpack with the ticket 12. Remeber that you should find out what books you needed earlier next time and get them cheaper online 28

How to fix a burnt light bulb Step 1 n You make sure you light bulb you are about to change is burnt out, because it can just be the fitting in loose Step 2 n You make sure you light switch is turned off so as to avoid being electrocuted Step 3 n You carefully unscrew the burnt out light bulb and dispose of it in the right place Step 4 n You carefully screw in the new bulb. Make sure it is not screwed it too tight because it might be harder to unscrew it when it burns out. Step 5 n After you have screwed in the new bulb, then you may put on the light switch. At this time the light bulb should come up. 29

On a piece of paper write your name and banner i. d. in the top right hand corner, as well as the homework assignment title on the top line(center) Answer the questions from the assignment in full detail from your research that you began with. Once you have answered all the questions reread your answers to make sure they are clear and have answered the question correctly. Then turn the page in to your professor when he asks for it. 31
