Step Up: The Origins The “Step Up” program was originally designed to target the lack of nutrition and physical fitness amongst homeless and disadvantaged populations in the Syracuse Community. This has been a result of: ● Poor diet ● Lack of Exercise ● Unmanageable healthcare costs and lack of financial resources “Step Up” offers free fitness classes weekly, advice regarding nutrition, and gift cards to local grocery stores (per 10 classes) to increase the likelihood of healthy eating.
Step Up; Prep Up! “Prep Up” is an addition to the “Step Up” program that also targets poverty, but hopes to eradicate or reduce it from the lives of our participants. The “Prep Up” sector of the program provides: ● ● ● How to manage and maintain finances How to write cover letters and build resumes How to look for and apply for jobs How to successfully complete a job interview How to use Microsoft Office
