Step 1 – Set up a feed of your blog • Go back to the Google account and find FEEDBURNER (if you still have blogger open you van go back via my account) • Copy your blog address into the Feedburner. You can get the blog address by previewing and copying the address. • Give your blog a sensible name Sue Fidler
Step 2 – Add the blog to a webage • Go to Publicize • Select Buzz. Boost • Go to the lower half of the page and chose settings such as: • number of feeds • show the title • show the date • then click save • Copy and paste the code given at the top of the page into a web page • If you don’t want to offer a RSS feed you can remove the code Subscribe to RSS headline updates from: <a href="http: //feeds. feedburner. com/Charity. Buzz. News"></a> • You can also remove the advert <br/>Powered by Feed. Burner</p> </noscript> Sue Fidler
Step 3 – Add an email feed to your blog Still in Feedburner Publicize: • Go to: Email Subscriptions • Copy the code given to notepad • Go back to blogger, design and “add a gadget” • Scroll down and select HTML/Javascript • Copy an paste the code into the HTML script Sue Fidler
Step 2 – Blog design Set the design for the blog: • In Template Designer: • Set the template layout • In Advanced set colours for the scheme • In Page Elements: • Upload a header image to replace the title • Add an “about me” paragraph • Add an image/photo if relevant • Add a gadget called FEED which offers an RSS Feed Sue Fidler
Step 3 – Feed your blog to Facebook In your Facebook page Click on applications Sue Fidler
Step 3 – Feed your blog to Facebook • Select Utilities • Search apps for RSS Graffiti • Click on the app • Go to the application • “Click here to authorise RSS Graffiti” then ALLOW • Click ADD NEW FEED • You can get your feed address from Feedburner. Go to the top of the page • Then enter your feed into the box and hit +add feed Sue Fidler
Step 3 – Feed your blog to Facebook Select which type of feed you want Standard Recommended for most feeds. Publishes a text excerpt and any available media (image, audio or video). Compact Intended to publish short stories from microblogs like Twitter without changing your Facebook status. Status updates Similar to "Compact" style, but instead of just writing on your wall it will also update your Facebook status. • Use the tabs to chose your settings and save • RSS Graffiti will then feed each blog post onto your facebook profile Sue Fidler
Step 4 – Feed the blog to Twitter • Go to http: //twitterfeed. com/ • Open an account • “create a new feed” • Give the feed a name • Add the Feedburner feed (the same as the one used for RSS Graffiti) • Click ADVANCED SETTINGS and set your preferences • Continue to step 2 • Select Twitter • Select your twitter feed and authenticate • Twitter feed will then post your blog posts onto twitter Sue Fidler
Step 4 – Set up twitter design • In the design tab you can upload a background and change the colour scheme. • If you don’t know your brand colours in hex web code but you do know the RGB you can use http: //www. javascripter. net/faq/rgbtohex. htm • In Change design colors you can set the font colour, link colour and sidebar colours • You can set a block background colour if you don’t want an image • In Change background image you can chose not to have a background or upload your own background image Sue Fidler
