Methodology/Ontologies • Schemas – Physical things • objects and activities • whole-part and involvement relationships – Temporal part and time – Observation and measurement • observation activities, devices and results – Physical quantity, property and unit – Information • carrier (file or signal) and content • Other standards • Sensor. ML • PML • ISO 15926 and SUMO

ML) ontology for sensors and services ontology for engineering design (ISO 10303) new concepts in S-TEN – features of time histories – BPA application specific ontologies - proprietary ontolog • equipment models • best practice advice • preventive maintenance • alerts examples in S-TEN

Human observation • States and activities – Human observations are about states • Broad fuzzy states, not property values [ sten: temporal. Part. Of : Mill_M-101 ; sten: at. Time [ sten: utc. Best practice advice • States and activities – Best Practice Advice is about activities • It is a description of a recommended subclass : Service. Mill. Of. Type. M_ABCAfter. Hot. Smell. Report a sten: Class. Of. Activity ; sten: has. Recommended. Sub. Class [ sten: advice "Check the lub oil system, and inspect each bearing externally. Dismantle any with a discoloured exterior.
