Grant Overview Three major components: • High Quality Professional Development o Integration of 21 st century tools o Assist teachers o Developing STEM units o Prepare students to take the PARCC online assessment • Instructional & Technical Support o Provide teachers with the necessary skills and training to effectively integrate technology in the classroom o Enhance instructional activities o Prepare students for universal anywhere – anytime digital citizenship

Required Assessments Summative Assessment Components: Performance-Based Assessment (PBA) • • • Administered after approximately 75% of the school year (2014 -2015 school year) PBA will focus on writing effectively when analyzing text The mathematics PBA will focus on applying skills, concepts, and understandings to solve multistep problems requiring abstract reasoning, precision, perseverance, and strategic use of tools

Common Core-Writing • English Language Arts Standards » College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards for Writing » 10 o Write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of tasks, purposes, and audiences. o Referred to as “Shared Responsibility”
