Stellar Enterprise WLAN Global Overview 1

WIFI Enterprise Centralized management with OV 2500 1 Via OV 2500 HTML 5. 0 interface: • configurations synchronization • AP-Group Management Interface • Notifications • Guests Captive Portal, BYOD 3 RF management between neighboring APs. Omni. Vista Up to 4000 APs 2 2 On APs: • Data plane • Control plane • Authentication Management • Local ACL management, etc.

WIFI Enterprise High level workflow overview AP Discovery Automatic creation of a network topology with AP / switch relationship System configuration by AP Group Configure radio by ap or AP Groupe Configure ssid and apply to AP Group 3

WIFI Enterprise Generic topology DHCP provides IP scope for APs (management) and SSID (data). The DNS provides the name resolution service for APs (management) and for SSID (data). DHCP The routing functions (inter VLAN and others) its carried by the aggregation or core switch. The management VLAN carries the signaling frames (mcats or ucast) between the APs of a group. DNS The switch ports are configured to accept the SSID TAGs and the Management VLAN as the port's default VLAN. OV 2500 + UPAM The management VLAN is NOT tagged by the AP Omnivista APs and global configuration UPAM provides Guest CP and BYOD 4 Each SSID is extended to the LAN via a 802. 1 q Tag

WIFI Enterprise Ap discovery and registration AP OV 2500 1. Boot of a « empty » AP 2. l’AP performs a DHCP request. 3. DHCPD has to respond with a “ 138” option specifying the IP of the OV 2500 4. The AP contacts the OV 2500 server and is registered. 7. Configuration of the AP (Proprietary Protocol secured using TLS). NOTE The mode of operation is "hard-coded" at the first boot: If the AP obtains option 138 => OV mode is hard coded If AP does not get option 138 => AP group mode is hard coded Only a factory reset of the AP can change the initial mode 5 Service DHCP

WIFI Enterprise AP DISCOVERY AND REGISTRATION New AP Yes PERMITTED ? LICENCES AVAILABLE ? No NOT AUTHORIZED Unmanaged AP 6 No NO LICENCES Yes Group Assignment and Configuration Yes OK ? No AP MANAGED BY OV 2500 Managed AP

WIFI Enterprise OV 2500 AP registration GUI The AP can be manually registered. APs created / imported manually are always “trusted”. By default, new APs are not automatically registered and require a "Trust" action in the registration tool (Un. Managed AP section) The admin can import APs via an excel spreadsheet 7 Automatic registration option for new APs

WIFI Enterprise AP Group configuration overview AP management via Omni. Vista always implies configuration push to an AP group. RF Profile NTP • Country/Region • Dynamic Load Balance • Background Scanning • Per Band Info The "base" RF parameter points to a specific Radio profil Syslog The AP group shares global system settings RF Profile 2 8 Some APs in a group may have the same AP Group but different RF parameters
