Pre-AP Classes Pre-AP classes are designed to prepare students for the particular challenges they will face in the subsequent Advanced Placement courses. As a result, the classes are not just more challenging than the regular curriculum, but teach the skills that are imperative for success in a college-level class.

AP Class work Because these classes are college level courses, they are much more

AP Class work Because these classes are college level courses, they are much more rigorous than the equivalent high school classes. AP instructors are required to adhere to the AP Course Description provided by College Board. In addition, each of our teachers has submitted and follows a detailed syllabus that has been authorized and approved by College Board.

AP Exams In order to get college credit for an Advanced Placement course, students

AP Exams In order to get college credit for an Advanced Placement course, students are required to take an AP exam in May. Exams are scored from 1 to 5. Most colleges give course credit if a student earns a 3 or higher on the exam. A student is allowed to take the same exam the next year if he/she wants to improve the score.

AP Class Enrollment AP classes are open to any students who register for them,

AP Class Enrollment AP classes are open to any students who register for them, provided the prerequisites have been met. All students taking an AP class will be expected to take the corresponding exam at the end of the school year.

Other Advanced Courses Dual Credit These classes are taught by an instructor who is

Other Advanced Courses Dual Credit These classes are taught by an instructor who is affiliated with a local college. Students receive college credit from the sponsoring college when they pass the course. Honors These courses provide a more rigorous and challenging curriculum, but students do not earn college credit.
