Disease Investigation Process Who gets interviewed? • HIV: all new diagnoses In 2017 CCPH completed 1, 007 STD interviews. • Syphilis: all clients • Gonorrhea: all clients • Chlamydia: pregnant women and MSM How long are investigations? • Chlamydia: 2 weeks maximum • Gonorrhea: 2 weeks maximum • Syphilis & HIV: 1 month maximum 7
Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT) • The practice of treating sex partners of patients diagnosed with chlamydia and/or gonorrhea by providing a prescription or medications to the patient for their partner(s) without a clinical examination of the partner(s). • Free in WA through State support. What are we doing to increase accessibility in Clark County? • Conducted an assessment of EPT use by providers. • About 48% of positive chlamydia clients were offered EPT by a provider. • Intervention design. • Developing education materials focused on providers with high morbidity. • EPT updates to CCPH website including photos and instructional video. 8
