Statens autorisasjonskontor for helsepersonell (SAFH) Purpose of the HPCB work The main purpose of the HPCB work is to help the competent authorities in EEA-countries to have efficient systems for information exchange about health care professionals crossing borders, so those few that can be at risk for the patient’s safety and security can be stopped. This is of great importance if we will remain the public’s confidence in the health care systems and in health care professionals.

Statens autorisasjonskontor for helsepersonell (SAFH) Possible methods for information exchange • Common database, as they have in USA (http: //www. fsmb. org/ ) and Canada, and are about to establish in Australia • Professional identity card, as the pharmacists in France and Belgium are trying to establish for the five harmonized professions in directive 2005/36/EU (HPRO Card – http: //www. hprocard. eu/ ) • Accumulated lists of health professionals who have had their license rewoked, limited etc, as we do between the Nordic countries (Sweden. Finland, Denmark, Iceland Norway)
