State System Office Actions (2 of 3) • (a) Design and build (in out-years) infrastructure (communications, technical support staff) to operate state-wide network for distributed learning (distance education), based on survey of needs and ability to provide content (content - programs and courses remains universities’ responsibility). • (b) Develop long-term business model for operation of distributed learning infrastructure. • (This action item assumes there is already some expertise and commitment to distance education by programs and departments in universities in the system. )
