RADAR OPERATOR CERTIFICATION Ø Classroom: Ø Ø Four (4) hours instruction on DCJ -approved

RADAR OPERATOR CERTIFICATION Ø Classroom: Ø Ø Four (4) hours instruction on DCJ -approved curriculum Supervised practical training: Ø Four (4) hours ride-along training Complete field exercises in course Ø Independent practical training: Ø Ø Ø Eighty (80) hours, nonenforcement, operation Valid for three (3) years 1 RADAR Operator Course Unit 1

RADAR OPERATOR RE-CERTIFICATION • Must be completed during final year of certification • Three

RADAR OPERATOR RE-CERTIFICATION • Must be completed during final year of certification • Three (3) years continuous RADAR operation following initial certification • Four (4) hours of refresher training provided by certified instructor in the following areas: • • Two (2) hours of relevant case law and technology updates • Includes legal requirements for case preparation • Two (2) hours of practice training by operator Instructor will maintain roster and issue DCJ-approved Operator Certificate 1 RADAR Operator Course Unit 1

RADAR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION Ø Satisfactory completion of RADAR operator requirements Ø Two (2) years

RADAR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION Ø Satisfactory completion of RADAR operator requirements Ø Two (2) years experience as a RADAR operator Ø Successful completion of approved Police Training Academy (PTC) RADAR Instructor course Ø Apply to PTC for Instructor certification • If you intend to teach at a PTC-certified Academy Ø Valid for three (3) years 1 RADAR Operator Course Unit 1

RADAR INSTRUCTOR RE-CERTIFICATION • Teach at least one RADAR course during 3 -year period
