IMPLICATION OF NEW UI REGIME AS PER CERC REGULATION DATED 30. 03. 2009 APPLICABLE FROM 01. 04. 2009. SN. Prior to 31. 03. 2009 After 31. 03. 2009 1 Frequency range for unscheduled inter change charge for frequency range below 50. 5 Hz. to 49. 0 Hz. The rate of UI below 50. 5 Hz. and upto 49. 80 Hz. linear in 0. 02 Hz. step at 8 Ps/Unit for each step. Below 49. 8 Hz, linear in 0. 02 Hz. step in 18 Ps per unit. The maximum UI rate is Rs. 10/Unit. Frequency range for unscheduled inter change charge for frequency range below 50. 3 Hz. to 49. 2 Hz. The rate of UI below 50. 3 and upto 49. 5 Hz. linear in 0. 02 Hz. step at 12 Ps/Unit for each step. Below 49. 5 Hz and upto 49. 2 Hz. linear in 0. 02 Hz step in 17 Ps per unit 2. UI Cap for generators For coal, lignite and APM gas fired generations, the cap is 406 Ps/Unit for over generation. UI Cap for generators For coal, lignite and APM gas fired generations, the cap is 408 s/Unit for over generation or under generation in the frequency range between 50. 3 Hz and upto 49. 2 Hz.

IMPLICATION OF NEW REGIME AS PER CERC REGULATION ON UI SETTLEMENT MECHANISM ISSUED ON 30. 03. 2009 APPLICABLE FROM 01. 04. 2009. S N. Prior to 31. 03. 2009 After 31. 03. 2009 3. UI Cap for states NIL OD shall not exceed 12%age of its scheduled drawal or 150 MW wherever is lower when frequency is below 49. 5 Hz and 3% on daily aggregate basis. Under generation of electricity from a generating station shall not exceed 12% of the scheduled injection when a frequency is below 49. 5 Hz and 3% on daily aggregate basis. 4 Penalty for deviation For generators : In case of over generation, the same is restricted 105% of DC in a time block and 101% during the day is eligible for UI and capped at 406 Ps/Unit For states: Same rates of UI are applicable for OD / UD For generators : for over generations, the cap is 408 Ps/ Unit for over generation or under generation in the freq range between 50. 3 Hz and upto 49. 2 Hz. For under generations, when freq. is below 49. 2 Hz, the generating stations using coal, lignite or gas supplied under APM as fuel, additional unscheduled inter change charge equivalent to 40% of UI cap rate i. e. 571. 20 Ps/Unit. For States: For over drawal during frequency below 49. 2 Hz, additional unscheduled inter change charge at the rate equivalent to 40% of the UI rate corresponding to frequency of 49. 2 Hz. i. e. 1029 Ps/Unit.
