CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability CHIETA ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS [Skills Programmes/Single Unit Standards] a) Legal Documentation • Registration with DHET b) Aligned Learning Material c) Partnership • Mo. U agreement with a Training Institute/ the place where theory component training will take place (if you are use someone’s place) • Memorandum of Agreement in place with an APPROVED Workplace for workplace Training component, as per the new workplace based learning programme Regulation. d) Practical Requirements • Adequate tools and equipment required for Practical training. NB: CHIETA is not obligated to give out Learning Material to SDP 2

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability CHIETA ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS (Cont. ) e) Assessors and Moderators • Constituent assessors and moderators must be registered with CHIETA for programmes that they will be engaged in. • Attached Mo. U with Assessors, Moderators and Facilitators f) Training policies (Quality Management System) g) Accreditation Application • Applications must be fully completed (all declaration pages must be signed) • Supporting Evidence must be attached before we can schedule the audit visit 3

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability SDP MONITORING REQUIREMENTS a) This is part of Accreditation requirement and is COMPULSORY; b) It’s a verification to assist and support the SDP who have challenges on their Training implementation or Accreditation; c) To ensure that assessor s and moderators in use are/still registered and valid with CHIETA; d) To check if the SDP is still compliant with SARS and Department of Labour requirements; e) To check if QMS of the SDP is in place and is applied; f) To check that all active SDPs have Mo. U in place with approved workplaces for the workplace component of qualifications (As per the WPBLPA Regulations) 4

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability ACCREDITATION VIA QCTO [NEW] QCTO LETTER OF INTENT (Full Qualification) a) SDP applies for accreditation via QCTO b) Letter Of Intent available on the QCTO website www. qcto. org. za c) Letter of intent must be sent to accreditation@qcto. org. za not CHIETA (please re-name your scanned letter e. g. ETQA CC-Letter of intent) d) QCTO will advise the SDP to apply for a registered occupational qualification which replaces the historically registered qualification or for historically registered qualification that is Quality Assured by CHIETA (QCTO Accreditation Referral Letter) 5

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability ACCREDITATION MATTERS TO ADDRESS a) Applications not fully completed. b) SDPs apply to QCTO while they are not ready for accreditation or they do not meet the minimum requirements for accreditation c) Supporting Evidence not in place/attached. d) Assessors/Moderators not meeting the criteria (Registration with CHIETA/ NAMB). e) Constituent Assessor/Moderator Expiry f) Trade Test Assessor/Moderator Expiry g) Legal Name vs Trading Name. h) TTC/SDP Expiry vs Training Implementation 8

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability QCTO/ NAMB ACCREDITATION (Trade related) a) All practicing trade test assessors and moderators must ensure they are registered with NAMB and they are linked to the correct Trade Test Centre b) Trade test schedule : 1. To be submitted 5 working days in advance of each month end to NAMB and copy CHIETA ETQA (using the NAMB template). 2. NAMB will not recommend certification of candidates: v if they were not approved for Trade testing through SETA (there is no serial number) v. If the learner/s do/es not appear on the Trade test schedule 3. Trade test evidence to be always available when required for external moderations c) Ensure learner enrolments are done with the CHIETA prior commencing training NB: Trade Test Centres to confirm the letter of Service with companies prior to Pre-Assessment 9

CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability QCTO/ NAMB ACCREDITATION (Cont. ) IMPORTANT NOTE TO SDPs and TTCs: - ARPL Toolkit that will be implemented on the 1 st September 2019 for the following Trades: Sheetfed Lithographer Fitter and Turner Lift Mechanic Plastic Manufacturing Machine Setter Lubrication Instrument Mechanician Plumber Electrician Spray Painter Ship builder Carpenter Bricklayer UPDATE TO TTCs (Transitional arrangement): For all the learners who are already registered on all the above trades the TTCs must make sure that those learners are on the Trade Test schedule before the 1 st of September 2019 in order for them to be considered on the old ARPL process. ( NAMB will send out a circular with regards to the above arrangement) 10
