Stagecraft portfolio By Emma Wallace
In regards to my last power point nothing has changed in Props , technology and dealing with the unexpected because the audiences feedback was positive to what elements I used in the performances and in my last Power. Point. One thing I have decided is that in my exam I will not be using a microphone this is based around the performance seting and location.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths: • • Eye contact • Confident when introducing songs Weaknesses: • smile more • Use more facial expressions and body movement to evoke emotion in the song • work on volume so that the sound is at an appropriate level
Rehearsal
I will set aside at least 30 minutes to an hour each day to thoroughly work on my stage presence and performance techniques. Starting off with warm up exercises and finishing with a few exercises as well I will perform all of my songs in a row so as to get the steady flow of my set in preparation for the exam. I will practice in front of the mirror to work on body image and facial expressions that contrast with each of my songs. Also allowing a 5/ 10 minute break in between.
Warm up exercises
• So I don’t strain my voice I will set aside time before a performance dedicated to vocal warm ups. • this also includes breathing exercises. • And as it is important for you to live a healthy lifestyle it is also in my best interest to eat healthier and exercise, this will also enhance my performance “cause we wont sell tickets with fat chicks up the front” – Mr G.
Interaction
1. List some ways you could interact with audience members? • Introduce song with • Definition, what it means to me • Acknowledge audiences presence 3. List some ways that you could interact with your band or accompanist during your performances. • Introducing accompaniment is not typical of this genre. • Acknowledging their contribution to performance.
Movement/ facial expressions
1. Identify some ways that you could use movement and facial expression to enhance your performance. • • hand body gestures facial expressions Based on mood of the song To portray emotions including: Joyous, depressed, Angry, sorrow 2. Using You. Tube describe how an artist in a genre similar to yours incorporates movement, posture and facial expression to enhance their performance. • Raised Head • Happy image using facial body movement • Raised arm
Safe sound levels
After one of my vet performances I received feed back that the microphone levels were to loud for my type of singing so in response to this I will either: • Work on microphone placement • Not use a microphone at all.
