Staff Update 23/03/20 Covid-19 Update • PCN Update (regular teleconferences between BW CCG, wider ICS partners (BHFT & Public Health) and Primary Care Network Clinical Directors. Top 3 Messages : 1. Suspension of QOF, DES and most enhanced service requirements has been agreed and will be worked through in the coming days, with protection of primary care income. 2. Further support expected for primary care staffing in terms of testing, access to PPE (where appropriate), access to sick pay & support through redeployment of other staff into primary care roles. 3. It was agreed there was an urgent need to now look at setting up 3 “Respiratory” Hubs within the 3 localities to assess, manage and treat Respiratory Illness in COVID 19 symptomatic patients who do not require/are unsuitable for hospitalisation. These would potentially work alongside the Westcall commissioned community COVID 19 management service and other arrangements for core primary care provision. • New Specialty Guides for patient management during the coronavirus pandemic have been issued in relation to: Hospital patient management, Non-invasive ventilation, ENT treatment and Management of rheumatology patients.
