introduction The introduction – nowadays, there has been many cases of hacking, fraudsters, false advertisements, fake slogans and corrupts organizational accounts. – The Ministry of ICT and Communications together with Education, with the support from the Kenya Communications Authority (KCA), has decided to engage students in secondary schools in finding out the effects of internet to various organizations in Kenya. – You will be required to carry out an inquiry on the effects of internet in organizations and use your technological and communication skills to disseminate the information as a way of educating the public through several media platforms like Whats. App groups, Facebook, Tweeter, wall Posters etc. – Your findings will form part of the national data base on ICT use.
WEBQUEST CONTENT v Introduction - sets the stage / provides background information v Task - must be doable, interesting / linked to syllabus topic & objectives v Resources - internet, email, Whats. App, community experts, textbooks, library, newspapers, magazines, photos, regalia , etc. v Process - steps students should take to complete task v Guideline – some guiding questions, directions on how to organize the information v Evaluation – rubric made by teacher to evaluate the student web quest product v Conclusion – recap what has been learned. TASK You will work in collaborative teams as ICT researchers to; (i) Research on at least 20 effects of internet ( merits and demerits) in an organization. (ii) Share the findings on the effects of internet to an organization. Each team will identify and focus on any 20 effects of internet to organization to investigate. Your team will develop a report and a plan of action. You will make a digital photo story to present your investigation findings and plan of action. You will share your digital photo story findings with your class, the school and the local community. You will submit your report to the ICT department in our school. You will learn some amazing and critical issues about effects of internet in an organization.

Process Step 1: You will divide into 5 teams (groups) of ICT researchers each team researching on at least 5 merits of internet to the organization. Step 2: In your team you will conduct research on internet, your textbooks and library books on the merits of internet to an organization. Step 3: Focus your investigation on the very critical use of the internet, and platforms such as Facebook, Whats. App and Instagram in organizations. Step 4: Identify the main merits of internet in the organizations. Step 5: Research also on the demeritss of internet to an organization. Step 6: Generate evidence and compile a report for presentation. Step 7: Your team will also develop an action plan to carry out your recommendations to ICT concerned.
