St Paul’s Family Church, Wibsey WELCOME TO YOUR 8 th September 2020
WELCOME TO OUR TODDLERS SERVICE. This Power. Point presentation will give you all what you need to do this service at home with your toddler(s). For the song, when you watch the You. Tube video, it is advise to put it on full screen. When you have finished to watch them, just come back to this presentation.
THIS WEEK, YOU WILL NEED: For the game: noisy objects and a cloth. For the craft activity: cardboard, Sellotape, colouring pens.
Gathering Prayer
From the top of my head (Touch head) to the tips of my toes; (Touch toes) from the lobes of my ears (Touch ear lobes) to the end of my nose; (Touch nose) from my back, to my front (Turn round) to my wiggly fingers, (stretch out arms and wiggle fingers) God loves me! (jump up and down)
Play
Place figure toys visibly in different places of the room. Start with a figure toy (a teddy bear for example). The teddy bear wants to share God’s love with a doll (placed somewhere else): the toddler runs with the teddy bear to see the doll. Then the doll wants to share God’s love with Olaf from Frozen (for example): the toddler runs with the doll to see Olaf, etc.
Story telling
Ask your toddler to copy your actions as you tell the story. Jesus was talking to his friends. He said, ‘If anyone does anything that makes you feel sad (make sad face) ask them to stop. (hold up hand) If they don’t listen (cup ear with hand) then ask some other people to come and talk to them (beckon to someone else) and make things right again. ’ (shake hands)
Jesus said that this helps make the church work: ‘If two or three people come together to share my love (hold hands) then I will be there. ’ (place a cross between you)
Create
Make a paper chain of people (instructions about how to do it here), and ask the toddler to decorate the people once they are cut.
Pray Dear God, thank you for being with us here. Please help us to share your love, and to build up our love for each other. Amen.
Sing together: ‘This little light of mine’
Sending out God bless you, (Point to each other) and God bless me. (Point to oneself) Amen. (Wave arms)
