St Pauls Church Wibsey TUESDAY NIGHT PRAYER WELCOME
St Paul’s Church, Wibsey TUESDAY NIGHT PRAYER WELCOME TO YOUR CHURCH Together: Growing, Caring, Sharing in God’s Love
WELCOME TO OUR TUESDAY NIGHT PRAYER. This Power. Point presentation will give you all you need to celebrate at home this service. For the Song/Hymn, just click on the titles, and the weblink will open it directly in your computer. The songs are songs of Taizé, to introduce to the quiet of the night. You have the choice between a song in English, a song in Latin, or just an instrumental track. The videos with the songs in English are with or without the lyrics of the song; most videos with the song in Latin are without the lyrics; the videos with just the instrumental track gives the unsung lyrics.
The Psalm can be read by two people or two groups of people if you want. It is a psalm that was said by people during their pilgrimage to Jerusalem, as we prepare ourselves to our going to the heavenly Jerusalem. You may start by lighting a candle.
(Time of quiet to be in presence of the Lord)
Our help is in the name of the Lord, All who made heaven and earth.
SONG OF TAIZE In English (with English translation): ‘Nada te turbe’ In English (without lyrics): ‘The kingdom of God’ In Latin: ‘In manus tua, Pater’ Just instrumental: ‘Wait for the Lord’
(Time of quiet to reflect on the past day)
For your grace at work today in our lives, the Church and the world: All we thank you, Lord our God.
For every sin committed in thought, word, deed and for what we have left undone today: All forgive us, help us to change and give us to walk humbly with you.
From eternity to eternity, you are Lord: All and we proclaim the coming of your reign.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!
THE WORD OF GOD A light on our path
PSALM Psalm 128 (Good News Version)
Happy are those who obey the LORD, who live by his commands. 2 Your work will provide for your needs; you will be happy and prosperous.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home, and your children will be like young olive trees around your table. 4 A man who obeys the LORD will surely be blessed like this.
5 May the LORD bless you from Zion! May you see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life!
6 May you live to see your grandchildren! Peace be with Israel!
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
O Christ, our true vine, may we, your branches, be ever fruitful in your service and share your love and peace ; with all your children, in the power of the Spirit and to the glory of the Father. Amen.
