SONG/HYMN Modern Song: ‘We bow down’ Trad. Hymn: ‘Come, let us join our cheerful song’
Blessed are you, Lord God, creator of day and night: All to you be praise and glory for ever!
By the light of Christ, your living Word: All dispel the darkness of our hearts.
May we walk always as children of light: All and sing your praise throughout the world.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!
That this evening may be holy, good and peaceful, let us pray with one heart and mind.
All As our evening prayer rises before you, O God, so may your mercy come down upon us, to cleanse our hearts and set us free to sing your praise, now and for ever. Amen.
THE WORD OF GOD A light on our path
PSALM (Good News Version) From the Psalm 94
12 LORD, how happy are those you instruct, the ones to whom you teach your law! 13 You give them rest from days of trouble until a pit is dug to trap the wicked.
14 The LORD will not abandon his people; he will not desert those who belong to him. 15 Justice will again be found in the courts, and all righteous people will support it.
16 Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against the evildoers? 17 If the LORD had not helped me, I would have gone quickly to the land of silence.
18 I said, “I am falling”; but your constant love, O LORD, held me up. 19 Whenever I am anxious and worried, you comfort me and make me glad.
20 You have nothing to do with corrupt judges, who make injustice legal, 21 who plot against good people and sentence the innocent to death.
22 But the LORD defends me; my God protects me. 23 He will punish them for their wickedness and destroy them for their sins; the LORD our God will destroy them.
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
Lord God, judge of all, before whom no secrets are hidden, let your justice shine out and your righteousness sweep wickedness from its throne, that we may live free from fear and stumbling: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

22 You have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. So you have an honest and true love for each other. So love one another deeply, from your hearts. 23 You have been born again by means of the living word of God. His word lasts forever. You were not born again from a seed that will die. You were born from a seed that can’t die. 24 It is written: “All people are like grass. All their glory is like the flowers in the field. The grass dries up. The flowers fall to the ground. 25 But the word of the Lord lasts forever” (Isaiah 40. 6 -8). And this is the word that was preached to you. (1 Peter 1. 22 -25; NIr. V)
Fear not, for I have redeemed you: All I have called you by name: you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you: All when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned. Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit: All Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine.

THE LORD’S PRAYER As our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:
(Modern Version) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. (Traditional Version) Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
SONG/HYMN Modern Song: ‘Abba, Father, let me be’ Traditional Hymn: ‘Count your blessings’
SENDING OUT All The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
